YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Content-Based Image Retrieval for Semiconductor Process Characterization

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2002
Image data management in the semiconductor manufacturing environment is becoming more problematic as the size of silicon wafers continues to increase, while the dimension of critical features continues to shrink.

Subject search of images

open access: yesKnjižnica, 2007
With development of technology, large image databases have become reality. Pictures in these databases were mainly described with keywords, but due to insufficiency of such description, the need for different approach to image indexing and retrieval has ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Content-Based Image Retrieval for Multiple Objects Search

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies, 2017
The progress of image search engines still proceeds, but there are some challenges yet in complex queries. In this paper, we present a new semantic image search system, which is capable of multiple object retrieval using only visual content of the images.

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

CONTENT-BASED IMAGE RETRIEVAL USING EXPRESSION SENSITIVITY BY FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Kursor: Menuju Solusi Teknologi Informasi, 2015
Image retrieval can be divided into two types context-based and the content-based. Image retrieval based on the content refers to the image features such as color, texture, shape, semantics or sensations.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...
