Content Familiarity and the Perception of Textual Relationships in Second Language Reading
RELC Journal, 1985This paper examines the effect of content familiarity on the perception of certain textual relationships by second language learners. Research relating to schema theory is presented and an empirical study involving one hundred second language students is described.

Carotene content of some common and less familiar foods of plant origin
Food Chemistry, 1995A number of commonly consumed plant foods including green leafy vegetables, roots and tubers, other vegetables and fruits were analysed for their total carotenes spectrophotometrically and by separation of provitamin A carotenoids on HPLC. β-Carotene is the predominant carotenoid in all foods.
