Exercise Does Not Effect Context-dependent Episodic Memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Memory has been shown to be strongly associated with the context in which it is encoded, suggesting that the context is central to the memory itself. However, the effect of exercise on context dependent object recognition is not fully known.

Verbal working memory performance and proactive interference are largely unaffected by matching font color reinstatement

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
The present set of five experiments assessed whether context-dependent memory effects were evident within verbal working memory. Participants completed an item-recognition verbal working memory task at a set size of 4, where test probes were presented in

How previous experience shapes perception in different sensory modalities

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2015
What has transpired immediately before has a strong influence on how sensory stimuli are processed and perceived. In particular, temporal context can have contrastive effects, repelling perception away from the interpretation of the context stimulus, and

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Characterization of a RS-LiDAR for 3D Perception

open access: yes, 2017
High precision 3D LiDARs are still expensive and hard to acquire. This paper presents the characteristics of RS-LiDAR, a model of low-cost LiDAR with sufficient supplies, in comparison with VLP-16.

Context Moderates Priming Effects on Financial Risk Taking

open access: yesRisks, 2017
Previous research has shown that risk preferences are sensitive to the financial domain in which they are framed. In the present paper, we explore whether the effect of negative priming on risk taking is moderated by financial context.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Spatial effects and Verdoorn law in the Portuguese context [PDF]

open access: yes
The consideration of spatial effects at a regional level is becoming increasingly frequent and the work of Anselin (1988), among others, has contributed to this.

Les enjeux de la contextualité des objets de savoir dans une action conjointe en classes de Français Langue Étrangère

open access: yesContextes et Didactiques
The consideration of the various contexts and their effects on the learning of French as a foreign language is the foundation of this research. Thus, this contribution focuses on the contextuality of objects of knowledge in a heuristic perspective, The ...
