LFA: A Lattice Fourier Analyzer for Quantitative In Situ EC‐STM of Adsorbate–Substrate Superstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Although electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy provides atomic‐scale access to electrified interfaces, quantitative in situ and operando investigations suffer from drift‐induced distortions. This work introduces the Lattice Fourier Analyzer (LFA), which employs substrate‐anchored affine drift correction in reciprocal space to recover precise ...

What Do Respondents Bring to Contingent Valuation? A Comparison of Monetary and Labor Payment Vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes
With contingent valuation, both the goods being valued and the payment vehicles used to value them are mostly hypothetical. However, although numerous studies have examined the impact of experience with the good on willingness to pay, less attention has ...

Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

3D‐Nanoprinted Fluidically Steerable Soft Robotic Microcatheters

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a ∼3‐French (1 mm‐in‐diameter) soft robotic microcatheter fabricated by means of two‐photon direct laser writing. The 3D‐printed microcatheter enables remote, on‐demand steering via microfluidic actuation for guidewire‐free navigation of vascular networks as well as microcatheter‐mediated delivery of fluidic payloads to target ...

Environmental value and valuation over time [PDF]

open access: yes
Time and value are related concepts that influence human behaviour. Although classical topics in human thinking throughout the ages, few environmental economic non-market valuation studies have attempted to link the two concepts.
