Simulation of continuum heat conduction using DEM domains [PDF]
Currently, almost all material manufacturing processes are simulated using methods based on continuum approaches such as the Finite Element Method (FEM).

Ensemble unscented Kalman filter for state inference in continuous–discrete systems
The authors consider non-linear state filtering problem in continuous–discrete systems, where the system dynamics is modelled by a stochastic differential equation, and noisy measurements of the system are obtained at discrete time instances.

Combining discrete and continuous simulation dynamo into simscript [PDF]
Discrete and continuous simulation can be combined in one program by using a discrete simulation language to simulate, among other things, a continuous simulation program. This amounts to the translation of the continuous language into the discrete language. The translation of Dynamo into Simscript is examined.

Event Scheduling in Simulation of Discrete Event Systems with Application on Queuing Systems. [PDF]
Queuing theory and other of discrete and continuous event systems have theory aesthetic but the more assumptions which indepent these theories are not accurate as compared with real situation, also the queue problem is one of the most scientific problems

A comparison of mixed-variables Bayesian optimization approaches
Most real optimization problems are defined over a mixed search space where the variables are both discrete and continuous. In engineering applications, the objective function is typically calculated with a numerically costly black-box simulation ...

Stronger computational modelling of signalling pathways using both continuous and discrete-state methods [PDF]
Starting from a biochemical signalling pathway model expresses in a process algebra enriched with quantitative information, we automatically derive both continuous-space and discrete-space representations suitable for numerical evaluation.
