Comparing the Effect of Semi‐Immersive Virtual Reality, Computerized Cognitive Training, and Traditional Rehabilitation on Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

An information geometrical evaluation of Shannon information metrics on a discrete n-dimensional digital manifold

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
The definition and nature of information have perplexed scientists due to its dual nature in measurements. The information is discrete and continuous when evaluated on a metric scale, and the Laplace-Beltrami operator and Gauss-Bonnet Theorem can map one

Closed loop models for analyzing the effects of simulator characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The optimal control model of the human operator is used to develop closed loop models for analyzing the effects of (digital) simulator characteristics on predicted performance and/or workload.

On the waiting time distribution for continuous stochastic systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The waiting time distribution (WTD) is a common tool for analysing discrete stochastic processes in classical and quantum systems. However, there are many physical examples where the dynamics is continuous and only approximately discrete, or where it is ...

Simulation of continuous flows with discrete models

open access: yesVestnik IGEU, 2019
The vast majority of heat and power processes include the motion of significant amounts of gases and liq-uids. This makes it important and quite urgent to develop approaches for computer simulation and visualiza-tion of continuum flows in technological devices and pipelines. A whole set of new approaches to mathematical modelling of continuum flows has

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

Discrete Additive Weibull Geometric Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2019
Discretizing a continuous distribution has received much attention among researchers recently. Discrete analogue of the well-known continuous distributions such as Normal, Exponential, Weibull, Laplace, Rayleigh, and so on, are available in the ...

A cutoff phenomenon in accelerated stochastic simulations of chemical kinetics via flow averaging (FLAVOR-SSA) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a simple algorithm for the simulation of stiff, discrete-space, continuous-time Markov processes. The algorithm is based on the concept of flow averaging for the integration of stiff ordinary and stochastic differential equations and ...

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.
