A coarse-to-fine deformable contour optimization framework

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2003
This paper introduces a novel coarse-to-fine deformable contour optimization framework, which is composed of two main components. The first component uses scale-space and information theories to produce a coarser representation of the input image to be used in a coarse-to-fine optimization scheme.

Contour guided surface deformation for volumetric segmentation

ACM SIGGRAPH 2015 Posters, 2015
In clinical practice, when a subject is imaged (i.e. CT scan or MRI) the result is a 3D image of volumetric data. In order to study the organ, bone, or other object of interest, this data needs to be segmented to obtain a 3D model that can be used in any number of down stream applications.

Surface shape from the deformation of apparent contours

International Journal of Computer Vision, 1992
The spatiotemporal analysis of deforming silhouettes (apparent contours) is here extended using the mathematics of perspective projections and tools from differential geometry. Analysis of the image motion of a silhouette or apparent contour enables computation of local surface curvature along the corresponding contour generator on the surface ...

Capsular Flap for Correction of Contour Deformities of the Breast

Annals of Plastic Surgery, 2005
We describe a technique in which the breast implant capsule is used to fill localized depressions in the breast, including those under the nipple-areola complex. Capsules have been reported to persist long-term and their high vascularity renders them suitable for use as flaps.

Tracking deformable objects with the active contour model

Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 1997
The paper presents a new algorithm for motion tracking of deformable objects by using the active contour model (snake). For robustness, the motion estimation confidence is combined into the snake energy function. Possible degradation measures are also studied for performance monitoring in an interactive tracking system.

Recognition of geons by parametric deformable contour models

1996
This paper presents a novel approach to the detection and recognition of qualitative parts like geons from real 2D intensity images. Previous works relied on semi-local properties of either line drawings or good region segmentation. Here, in the framework of Model-Based Optimisation, whole geons or substantial sub-parts are recognised by fitting ...

Contour Deformities of the Trunk and Extremities

2019
Transplantation of autologous fat graft serves for the restoration of the subcutaneous tissue and results in an increase of the dermal mobility and skin elasticity. It serves for the restoration of the integument at the stem and acra, in this case, especially of the subcutaneous fat tissue.
