Multiscale Contour Steered Region Integral and Its Application for Cultivar Classification
In this paper, a multiscale contour steered region integral (MCSRI) method is proposed to classify highly similar shapes with flexible interior connection architectures.

Fermionic Sign Problem Minimization by Constant Path Integral Contour Shifts
The path integral formulation of quantum mechanical problems including fermions is often affected by a severe numerical sign problem. We show how such a sign problem can be alleviated by a judiciously chosen constant imaginary offset to the path integral.

Targeting multi-loop integrals with neural networks
Numerical evaluations of Feynman integrals often proceed via a deformation of the integration contour into the complex plane. While valid contours are easy to construct, the numerical precision for a multi-loop integral can depend critically on the ...

Numerical contour integration for loop integrals [PDF]
A fully numerical method to calculate loop integrals, a numerical contour-integration method, is proposed. Loop integrals can be interpreted as a contour integral in a complex plane for an integrand with multi-poles in the plane. Stable and efficient numerical integrations an along appropriate contour can be performed for tensor integrals as well as ...

Backpropagating Hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm for fast Lefschetz thimble calculations
The Picard-Lefschetz theory has been attracting much attention as a tool to evaluate a multi-variable integral with a complex weight, which appears in various important problems in theoretical physics.

Numerical Inverse Transformation Methods for Z-Transform
Numerical inverse Z-transformation (NIZT) methods have been efficiently used in engineering practice for a long time. In this paper, we compare the abilities of the most widely used NIZT methods, and propose a new variant of a classic NIZT method based ...

The quantum-mechanical Coulomb propagator in an L2 function representation
The quantum-mechanical Coulomb propagator is represented in a square-integrable basis of Sturmian functions. Herein, the Stieltjes integral containing the Coulomb spectral function as a weight is evaluated.

Dynamics of contour integration
To determine the dynamics of contour integration the temporal properties of the individual contour elements were varied as well as those of the contour they form. A temporal version of a contour integration paradigm (Field, D. J., Hayes, A., & Hess, R. F.

Bayesian contour integration [PDF]
The process by which the human visual system parses an image into contours, surfaces, and objects--perceptual grouping--has proven difficult to capture in a rigorous and general theory. A natural candidate for such a theory is Bayesian probability theory, which provides optimal interpretations of data under conditions of uncertainty.
