Improved tunneling magnetoresistance at low temperature in manganite junctions grown by molecular beam epitaxy

open access: yes, 2011
We report resistance versus magnetic field measurements for a La0.65Sr0.35MnO3/SrTiO3/La0.65Sr0.35MnO3 tunnel junction grown by molecular-beam epitaxy, that show a large field window of extremely high tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) at low temperature.

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.

APPLICATION OF THE FACTORIAL EXPERIMENT IN THE QUALITY ANALYSIS OF THE MACHINED SURFACE OF AN ALUMINUM ALLOY RELATED TO THE VARIATION OF THE CUTTING PARAMETERS [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals: Series on engineering sciences (Academy of Romanian Scientists), 2020
In the cutting industry, surface finishing and product strength are essential in determining the quality. In this scientific research paper it is desired to analyze the way in which the influence of some cutting parameters that take different values, on

The geomorphological setting of some of Scotland's east coast freshwater mills: a comment on Downward and Skinner (2005) ‘Working rivers: the geomorphological legacy...’ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Many of the water mills on Scotland's east coast streams, unlike those discussed recently by Downward and Skinner (2005 Area 37 138–47), are found in predominantly bedrock reaches immediately downstream of knickpoints (i.e. bedrock steps).

Multiscale Structuring of Hydroxyapatite via Two‐Photon Lithography of Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hydroxyapatite scaffolds are of great interest in bone tissue engineering applications, ranging from 3D cell culture to regenerative medicine. Using two‐photon lithography of a transparent nanocomposite, hydroxyapatite microstructures with features ranging from submicron to centimeter‐scale are fabricated. This allows to mimic the natural bone geometry,

Rock sampling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
An apparatus for sampling rock and other brittle materials and for controlling resultant particle sizes is described. The device includes grinding means for cutting grooves in the rock surface and to provide a grouping of thin, shallow, parallel ridges ...

Role of the particle size polydispersity in the electrical conductivity of carbon nanotube-epoxy composites

open access: yes, 2017
Carbon nanotubes (CTNs) with large aspect-ratios are extensively used to establish electrical connectedness in polymer melts at very low CNT loadings. However, the CNT size polydispersity and the quality of the dispersion are still not fully understood ...

Raman Microscopy at the Organic–Inorganic Interfaces in Human Calcified Aortic Valves Shows the Co‐Existence of Whitlockite Crystals and Carbonated Hydroxyapatite‐Mineralized Collagen Fibrils

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study advances our understanding of aortic valve stenosis by capturing spatially resolved chemical and structural changes at the nanoscale. The findings highlight the potential of combined Raman and electron microscopy for understanding calcification mechanisms across diverse tissue types.
