Classification of Burrs Using Contour Features of Image in Milling Workpieces
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2021Fulfilment of quality standards in manufacturing processes is an essential task and often increases production costs. Specifically, the appropriate edge finishing of machine workpieces is one of the requirements so as to avoid the presence of burrs. In this paper, a vision-based system that employs contour features is proposed to detect and classify ...

Milling Force Prediction for Circular Contour Machining
Materials Science Forum, 2014When machining the complex parts of aircraft engines, the milling force for the circular contour must be accurately predicted to reduce machining vibration. In this paper, the prediction model of the mean milling force per tooth during machining circular contour is developed.

Prediction of contour accuracy in the end milling of pockets
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2001Abstract Many die and mold parts surface contours are produced by end milling operations. The contour accuracy of the milled pockets is strongly influenced by the cutting tool deflection caused by the cutting forces. For milling a complex shape or a simple rectangular pocket, the accuracy of contours in corner cutting is mainly influenced by the ...

Controlling the Accuracy in Contour Milling
Russian Engineering Research, 2021A method is proposed for more precise contour machining of long slots by end mills. The causes of deviations are identified, and compensation methods are noted for multifunctional machine tools.

International Symposium for Testing and Failure Analysis, 2014
Abstract Contour milling by high precision CNC-milling offers the possibility to delayer precisely into warped and tilted package interfaces e.g. to expose the die backside. The needed data about the warpage of the surface of interest is in this case derived from SAM time of flight- measurements.

Contour Errors during Milling Process
Advanced Materials Research, 2012To achieve high quality and productivity during continuous contouring, it is important to know how the two axes work together to move the machine in a circular or rectangular path. For this reason, we have analyzed circular and linear motion trajectories and the frequency response of the system during milling process.

An interactive programming system for milling contours and pockets
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 1990The programming system discussed here is similar to APT in the definitions it uses. It can automatically generate CNC blocks for the machining of contours and pockets, bounded by linear and circular segments. The system uses simple trigonometry to analyse lines, circles and their intersections.

Research of surface roughness at contour milling
2019The article deals with the question of the difference in the roughness value from the work of the end part of end mills when processing curved contours and radius mates. The results of the experiment are analyzed, the theoretically formulated problem is identified in practice.

Computer numerical control for assuring the machining accuracy of contour milling
Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, 1984Abstract In this paper, a software technology for improving the machining accuracy in contour milling is discussed, in which the continuous path control is thoroughly investigated from the viewpoint of system synthesis, and the computer numerical control is effectively used.
