Spin Contour

IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2016
Spin image is a powerful shape descriptor, useful in a point set or surface registration. However, the usage of spin images is hampered by issues such as sensitivity to noise and sampling rate and time-consuming matching process. We propose a novel spin-image-based local surface descriptor named spin contour to alleviate these problems.

Dynamic contour: A texture approach and contour operations

The Visual Computer, 1995
The large morphometric variability in biomedical organs requires an accurate fitting method for a pregenerated contour model. We propose a physically based approach to fitting 2D shapes using texture feature vectors and contour operations that allow even automatic contour splitting.

Dual contouring of hermite data

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics, 2002
Figure 1: A temple undergoing destructive modifications. Both models were generated by dual contouring a signed octree whose edges contain Hermite data. The modified model on the right was computed from the lefthand model in real-time.

Forehead Contouring

Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America, 2023
The upper third of the face has an important effect on gendering patients. Forehead contouring modifying a masculine face to a more feminine form is most likely to affect the gender assessment of an individual's face. Contouring involves techniques such as forehead reduction or augmentation, orbital contouring, and hairline adjustment.

On contour texture

Proceedings. 1991 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2002
It is suggested that non-smooth or complex boundaries are processed by the visual system so as to obtain a simple abstract description, called contour texture, which contains much less information than that provided by the location of all points of the contour.
