Digital Watermarking in Contourlet Domain

18th International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR'06), 2006
Digital watermarking has been proposed as a method of copyright protection of audio, images, video and text. We propose to use the newly introduced transform for two dimensional signals, namely, the contourlet transform for image watermarking application.

Enhancing retinal image by the Contourlet transform

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2007
The evaluation of retinal images is widely used to help doctors diagnose many diseases, such as diabetes or hypertension. Due to the acquisition process, retinal images often have low grey level contrast and dynamic range. This problem may seriously affect the diagnostic procedure and its results.

Optical nonsubsampled contourlet transform

Applied Optics, 2016
The nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) is a fully shift-invariant, multiscale, and multidirectional expansion implemented in optics using the Fourier transform of its filters. In this paper, we propose a novel optical NSCT filter design method and the corresponding post-processing method to avoid the use of holographic techniques.

Palmprint classification using contourlets

2007 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2007
In this paper, we propose a new palmprint classification method by using the contourlet features. The contourlet transform is a new two dimensional extension of the wavelet transform using multiscale and directional filter banks. It can effectively capture smooth contours that are the dominant features in palmprint images.

Watermark performance contrast between contourlet and non-subsampled contourlet transform

2012 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation, 2012
The performance between the watermark scheme using contourlet tranform and that using non-subsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) is compared by a conventional watermark algorithm in this paper, which is rarely mentioned in existing literatures. The transparency analyses with subjective and objective evaluation indicators are performed on watermark ...

Reduced-Reference IQA in Contourlet Domain

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2009
The human visual system (HVS) provides a suitable cue for image quality assessment (IQA). In this paper, we develop a novel reduced-reference (RR) IQA scheme by incorporating the merits from the contourlet transform, contrast sensitivity function (CSF), and Weber's law of just noticeable difference (JND).

A Contourlet-based Method for Writer Identification

2005 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2006
Handwriting-based writer identification is a hot research topic in the field of pattern recognition. Typically, there are four modes of writer identification: on-line text-dependent, on-line text-independent, off-line text-dependent, off-line text-independent; and off-line text-independent is the most challenging problem among them because many ...

CBS: Contourlet-Based Steganalysis Method

Journal of Signal Processing Systems, 2010
An ideal steganographic technique embeds secret information into a carrier cover object with virtually imperceptible modification of the cover object. Steganalysis is a technique to discover the presence of hidden embedded information in a given object.

Image enhancement based on contourlet transform

Signal, Image and Video Processing, 2014
Images captured with insufficient illumination generally have dark shadows and low contrast. This problem seriously affects other forms of image processing schemes such as face detection, security surveillance, image fusion. In this paper, a new image enhancement algorithm using the important features of the contourlet transform is presented.
