Pan-sharpening via the contourlet transform
2007 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2007The wavelet transform has been a popular choice for the spatial transformation in the pan-sharpening process. However, the wavelet transform do not represent the directional information efficiently. On the other hand, the contourlet transform, which also has a property of multiresolution decomposition similar to the wavelet, is known to provide ...

Contourlet Based Interest Points Detector
2008 20th IEEE International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence, 2008This paper proposes a robust algorithm for detecting interest points based on the nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT). The NSCT provides multiscale decomposition with directional filters at each scale. Furthermore, NSCT is very efficient in extracting the geometric information of images and therefore it has very good feature localization.

Contourlet-Based Mammography Mass Classification
2007The research presented in this paper is aimed at the development of an automatic mass classification of mammograms. This paper focuses on using contourlet-based multi-resolution texture analysis. The contourlet transform is a new two-dimensional extension of the wavelet transform using multi-scale framework as well as directional filter banks.

Image inpainting with nonsubsampled contourlet transform
Pattern Recognition Letters, 2013A new algorithm for image inpainting based on the searching of redundancy for corner points across different scales and orientations is proposed. The searching utilises the nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) of the original image. The target region is filled-in following the priority which is given to the corner points that accumulate a high ...

Iris identification using contourlet transform
SPIE Proceedings, 2007With the increased emphasis on security and personal authentication, an accurate biometric-based authentication system has become a critical requirement in a variety of applications. Among different biometrics, authentication based on iris features has received a lot of attention since its introduction in 1992. The wavelet transform has been proposed

Blind image quality assessment in the contourlet domain
Signal Processing: Image Communication, 2021Abstract No-reference/blind image quality assessment (NR-IQA/BIQA) algorithms play an important role in image evaluation, as they can assess the quality of an image automatically, only using the distorted image whose quality is being assessed. Among the existing NR-IQA/BIQA methods, natural scene statistic (NSS) models which can be expressed in ...

The contourlet transform for image fusion
SPIE Proceedings, 2006In this paper, we introduce a new image fusion method based on the contourlet transform. Firstly, the problem that wavelet transform could not efficiently represent the singularity of linear/curve in image processing is analyzed. Secondly, the principal of Contourlet and its good performance in expressing the singularity of two or higher dimensional ...

Object Detection and Tracking in Contourlet Domain
2013This paper describes a method for the moving object detection and tracking in video sequences using contourlet transform. For the contourlet transform to be translation-invariant a 2D cycle spinning is implemented on subbands ∆ 1 and ∆ 2. Cycle spinning for edge detection is implemented.
