Performance and flow condition of small-sized axial fan and adoption of contra-rotating rotors

Journal of Thermal Science, 2010
Small-sized axial fans are used as air coolers for electric equipments. But there is a strong demand for higher power of fans according to the increase of quantity of heat from electric devices. Therefore, higher rotational speed design is conducted, although it causes the deterioration of the efficiency and the increase of noise.

Pre-Stall Waves: Precursors to Stall Inception in a Contra-Rotating Axial Fan

Volume 2E: Turbomachinery, 2020
Abstract Stall in a compressor or a fan is often associated with pre-stall waves, that could act as precursors. The present study aims to understand in detail the pre-stall waves leading to instabilities in a low aspect ratio, low hub-tip ratio contra-rotating axial fan.

Comparative Analysis of Radial and Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Machine for a Contra Rotating Fan

2023 26th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2023
To further improve the thrust-to-weight ratio of the contra rotating fan(CRF), the topology of the electrical machine should be compared for a better power density and efficiency.
