Smart Contracts Contracts [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Blockchain, 2020
This paper explores the connection between software contracts and smart contracts. Despite the assonance, these two terms denote quite different concepts: software contracts are logical properties of software components, while smart contracts are programs executed on blockchains. What is the relation between them?

Ambiguous Contracts

open access: yesProceedings of the 24th ACM Conference on Economics and Computation, 2023
We explore the deliberate infusion of ambiguity into the design of contracts. We show that when the agent is ambiguity‐averse and hence chooses an action that maximizes their minimum utility, the principal can strictly gain from using an ambiguous contract, and this gain can be arbitrarily high.

The Complexity of Contracts [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Computing, 2020
We initiate the study of computing (near-)optimal contracts in succinctly representable principal-agent settings. Here optimality means maximizing the principal's expected payoff over all incentive-compatible contracts---known in economics as "second-best" solutions. We also study a natural relaxation to approximately incentive-compatible contracts. We

Pseudo-contractibility Of Weighted Lp -Algebras

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2013
Let G be a locally compact group, 1 < p < ∞ and let ω be a weight function on G. Recently, we introduced the Lebesgue weighted Lp-algebra L1pω(G).

On Contractible J-Saces

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2018
Jordan  curve  theorem  is  one  of  the  classical  theorems  of  mathematics, it states  the  following :  If    is a graph of  a  simple  closed curve  in  the complex plane the complement  of   is the union of  two regions,  being the common ...

Various notions of module amenability on weighted semigroup algebras

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2022
Let SS be an inverse semigroup with the set of idempotents EE. In this article, we find necessary and sufficient conditions for the weighted semigroup algebra l1(S,ω){l}^{1}\left(S,\omega ) to be module approximately amenable (contractible) and module ...

Chaotic tracial dynamics

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2023
The action on the trace space induced by a generic automorphism of a suitable finite classifiable ${\mathrm {C}^*}$ -algebra is shown to be chaotic and weakly mixing.

Contracts [PDF]

open access: yesClinics in Colon and Rectal Surgery, 2006
Residents completing colon and rectal surgery training should take seriously the terms of contracts offered to them. Contracts should specify how and how much salary will be paid, what benefits the surgeon will receive, and what services are to be provided.

Working the contract [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 19th Australasian conference on Computer-Human Interaction: Entertaining User Interfaces, 2007
This paper presents data and analysis from a long term ethnographic study of the design and development of an electronic patient records system in a UK hospital Trust. The project is a public private partnership (PPP) between the Trust and a US based software house (OurComp) contracted to supply, configure and support their customizable-off-the-shelf ...
