Contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the normal and abnormal gallbladder

The British Journal of Radiology, 1986
One hundred and fourteen upper abdominal computed tomography examinations performed before and after intravenous contrast were reviewed. In 48 patients who had no evidence of biliary or pancreatic disease, the mean gallbladder wall attenuation before contrast was 25 +/- 13 HU and after contrast 42 +/- 18 HU, with a wall thickness of 1.9 +/- 0.43 mm. Quantitative Aspects of Contrast Enhancement in Cranial Computed Tomography

Radiology, 1978
The temporal relationship of blood iodine levels to tumor enhancement in cranial computed tomography was studied in a series of patients. Both the bolus and biphasic techniques were evaluated. Peak tumor intensity may not develop immediately, but may be more pronounced on a 20-minute scan.

Contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the gallbladder in acute pancreatitis

Gastrointestinal Radiology, 1984
The gallbladder findings encountered in 59 patients examined because of a first attack of acute, alcohol-induced pancreatitis, are reported. Abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography was technically acceptable in 54 patients. In 85% of the patients the gallbladder finding was pathological. The density increase in the gallbladder contents was more

Contrast-enhanced computed tomography scanning of the postoperative spine

Surgical Neurology, 1986
A prospective study of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scanning was undertaken for 17 levels previously operated upon in the lumbosacral spine in 14 patients. All levels with prior operations were scanned before and after the administration of intravenous contrast medium.

Basics of Contrast Enhancement in Computed Tomography

1983
Since the successful use of contrast media (CMs) to enhance the visibility of certain brain lesions in the first clinical computed tomography (CT) scans, contrast enhancement (CE) has become a standard procedure in most CT examinations. For many years CE was practiced with no systematic approach to optimize the result.

Molecular imaging with dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography

Clinical Radiology, 2010
Dynamic contrast-enhanced computed tomography (DCE-CT) is a quantitative technique that employs rapid sequences of CT images after bolus administration of intravenous contrast material to measure a range of physiological processes related to the microvasculature of tissues.

Atypical Contrast Enhancement in Computed Tomography of Demyelinating Disease

Archives of Neurology, 1982
To the Editor.— The article "Atypical Contrast Enhancement in Computerized Tomography of Demyelinating Disease" by Dr Marano and colleagues in theArchives(1980;37:523-524) dealing with cranial computed tomography (CT) and multiple sclerosis (MS) raises several issues and questions that deserve further comment.
