Positionierung kontrastiv? Zum Kulturvergleich durch die Analyse von Positionierungsaktivitäten / Contrasting Positioning? Towards a Cross-Cultural Analysis through the Study of Positioning [PDF]

open access: yesLinguistische Treffen in Wrocław
Positioning Theory represents a useful approach for studying cultural conceptualizations and patterns of language use. The notion could also be implemented in cross-cultural research, for example in contrastive discourse studies.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A pragmatic approach to the contrastive analysis of a literary work and two of its translations

open access: yes, 2004
There are two levels at which a pragmatic analysis can be carried out in relation to a literary work: the level of the narrative and the level of the text-production and reception.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Contrastive analysis

open access: yes, 1980
Chapter 2, the author examines the psycholinguistic bases of contrastive analysis, concentrating on the notion of transfer which has been so powerful an element in its pedagogic appeal. Chapter 3 and 4 oofer the reader both a theoretical framework and a

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Contrastive analysis of reformulation markers in English and Italian

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of this paper is a contrastive analysis of reformulation markers in spoken English and Italian. Broadly speaking, reformulation markers are a particular kind of discourse markers that allow the speaker to revisit a previous statement (Gülich ...
