Poisson regression charts for the monitoring of surveillance time series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper presents a Poisson control chart for monitoring time series of counts typically arising in the surveillance of infectious diseases. The in-control mean is assumed to be time-varying and linear on the log-scale with intercept and seasonal ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Evaluating the Packing Process in Food Industry Using Fuzzy X and S Control Charts [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2011
The fuzzy set theory addresses the development of concepts and techniques for dealing with uncertainty or impression conditions. If the collected data from a process include vagueness due to human subjectively or measurement system, fuzzy control charts ...

Control charts using minima instead of averages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Traditional control charts are commonly based on the averages of the inspected groups of observations. It turns out to be quite worthwhile to consider alternative approaches.

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

The Implementation of Control Charts as a Verification Tool in a Time Series Model for COVID-19 Vaccine Participants in Pontianak

open access: yesComTech, 2023
Vaccines are the primary weapon used to stop the outbreak, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, supplying vaccines to control the COVID-19 pandemic is essential, especially in minimizing the incidence and achieving herd immunity to break the ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

A comparison of phase I control charts

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Industrial Engineering, 2015
A carefully done Phase I analysis is a vital part of an overall statistical process control and monitoring regime. Distribution-free control charts can play a useful role in this analysis, as a parametric model assumption often cannot be adequately ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
