ON CONTROLLED DIFFUSION PROCESSES WITH UNBOUNDED COEFFICIENTS
Mathematics of the USSR-Izvestiya, 1982The paper is devoted to the general theory of controlled diffusion processes in a domain of a d-dimensional space in the absence of constraints on the growth of the coefficients at infinity. It turned out that the most suitable object of study is the payoff function in the optimal stopping problem for the controlled process.

Adaptive control of non-linear systems with unknown virtual control coefficients
International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, 2000The author proposes an adaptive control strategy for a nonlinear system in (triangular) strict feedback form with an unknown coefficient. Based on a backstepping approach, a smooth adaptive feedback law is derived. Via a suitable Lyapunov function the desired control performance of the closed loop system is shown.

Control Coefficients and the Matrix Method
1990When we developed the matrix method (Fell & Sauro, 1985), we were aiming to find a quick route for the evaluation of flux control coefficients in terms of elasticities, either algebraically for the general case, or numerically in specific instances where the values of the elasticities were known.

Why are Most Flux Control Coefficients so Small?
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1996Experimental values of flux control coefficients are usually small. We examine assumptions about the nature of metabolic networks or of the rate equations that might lead to this result. We show that a general result cannot be obtained and we discuss this question with some examples.

Coefficient Estimation in Adaptive Control Systems
1991In Chapter 4 we discussed the coefficient estimation problem for linear stochastic systems without monitoring, i.e. there is no specific purpose for the system input. In order for the coefficient estimate to be consistent, we have clarified how the stochastic regressors φ n or φ n 0 or ψ n should behave.

Linear Quadratic Optimal Stochastic Control with Random Coefficients
SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1976The purpose of this paper is to apply the methods developed in [1] and [2] to solve the problem of optimal stochastic control for a linear quadratic system. After proving some preliminary existence results on stochastic differential equations, we show the existence of an optimal control. The introduction of an ad joint variable enables us to derive ...

On the Sign Pattern of Metabolic Control Coefficients
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1996The sign of a flux (concentration) control coefficient of an enzyme determines if the metabolic flux (metabolite concentration) will increase or decrease when the enzyme concentration is increased/decreased. In general, the sign of a control coefficient depends on the magnitudes of the enzyme elasticities, fluxes etc.

Damping coefficient control device for vibration damper
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992A damping coefficient control device, for use in a vibration damper of the type which is disposed between a vibration source and a vibration receiving section to be isolated from the vibration of the vibration source and which has a plurality of small liquid chambers charged with an electrorheologic fluid and communicated through an orifice, includes ...
