Digital Optimal Robust Control
Physical Review Letters, 2023The lack of ability to determine and implement accurately quantum optimal control is a strong limitation to the development of quantum technologies. We propose a digital procedure based on a series of pulses where their amplitudes and (static) phases are designed from an optimal continuous-time protocol for given type and degree of robustness ...

Using inexpensive integrated circuits, a digital timer-controller can be constructed which will provide control pulses after preset times from the start of a sequence, and which is also capable of providing pulses at a constant preset rate. The basic clock rate, 1 s is derived directly from the power line frequency, with resultant high accuracy.

Directly Digital Flow Controller
Analytical Chemistry, 2004An improved directly digital flow controller is evaluated for its ability to modulate gas flow rates. As in the older device, the "GasDAC" (named for its similarity to a weighted-resistor digital-to-analog converter) is capable of controlling gas flow in a linear and reproducible manner with the advantage of having an adjustable range of flow rates ...

A digitally controlled DC drive
Proceedings of MELECON '94. Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2002An experimental version of a digitally controlled DC drive is presented in the paper. The four quadrant chopper, the auxiliary circuits, interface and control circuits have been designed and built in the laboratory. The chopper and drive control is performed by an eight-bit general purpose low cost microprocessor, in which the control programs have ...

Digitally controlled attenuator
2016 24th Telecommunications Forum (TELFOR), 2016Wide band digitally controlled attenuator implemented in standard 130nm UMC CMOS process has been presented. Attenuator is composed of four cascade Pi-attenuation cells, and it is designed to achieve constant attenuation step size in a wide frequency range from 3.2 to 9.3 GHz.

Randomized Digital Optimal Control
2001In sampled data systems the sampling periods are almost always assumed to be deterministic, i.e., known in advance. However, in practice, the sampling periods should often be conceived as stochastic variables. This so called stochastic sampling phenomena occurs in many areas of sampled data systems such as in biological control systems or when a human ...

The digital control lessons and workstation used in the automatic controls course for electrical engineering majors at the United States Military Academy are presented. These digital control lessons culminate with the conversion of a conventional control design for implementation by a digital system. The control system is a lead compensator for a servo

The term digitalization refers to the adoption or increase in the use of digital and computer technology by an organization in order to improve the way of working. This term differs from digitization which describes the action or process of digitizing analogue data into digital form and is understood as a trend reversal in the use of this thesis ...
