A Circuit of Mechanically Regulated Transcription Factors Balances Regenerative and Fibrotic Memory of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

Use of fire in land clearing: Proper ignition techniques important requirements for successful management of controlled burns

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1951
The fourth of five articles reporting the findings in investigations in the effectiveness, the safety and the cost of the use of controlled burning as a tool for land clearing.s No attempt is made to provide one formula for prescribed burning in ...

Technique for Studying of the Dynamics of Changes of a Smoky Environment Parameters during the Transition of Pyrolysis to Flame Combustion

open access: yesПриборы и методы измерений, 2019
The existing methods for monitoring the performance of multi-criteria fire detectors do not provide for verification of their characteristics in the conditions of transition from smoldering to flame burning.

Two Routes to Land: Genomic Underpinnings of Parallel Aerial Egg Deposition in Aquatic Old‐World Pila and New‐World Pomacea (Ampullariidae)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

MG53 Coordinates Macrophage Polarization and Neuroimmune Coupling to Promote Corneal Nerve Regeneration via the MPEG1–MVP–STAT6 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Corneal nerve regeneration is critical to corneal wound healing processes. The current study reveals a novel role of MG53 in promoting corneal nerve regeneration after alkali induced injury. Mechanistically, MG53 enters macrophages via its receptor, MPEG1, promotes MVP K63 ubiquitination, and triggers STAT6 induced repair‐related genes expression ...
