This modification of the House suction irrigator with finger control on the irrigation portion facilitates the use of suction and irrigation in one hand during mastoid and tympanoplastic surgery (Fig 1). There is no need for the nurse to clamp the suction rubber tubing. This avoids the delay in "on and off" action of irrigation.
