3′‐UTR Hypermethylation and ABA Signaling Coordinate Transcriptional Activation of SWEET14 for High Sugar Accumulation in Citrus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypermethylation of CliSWEET14 3′‐UTR relieves ClibHLH105‐mediated transcriptional repression, together with ABA signaling‐mediated activation of the CliABF3‐CliNAC56 cascade, boosts CliSWEET14 expression and sucrose accumulation in citrus. ABSTRACT Sugar accumulation is pivotal for fruit quality, yet the molecular regulation of this process remains ...

Blocking Honeybee Preference for Neonicotinoids by Interfering With Dopamine Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Honeybees (Apis mellifera) paradoxically prefer nectar containing the harmful neonicotinoid thiamethoxam. This preference is associated with transient brain dopamine elevation during proboscis extension reflex (PER) responses and active feeding, and is reduced by the dopamine receptor antagonist fluphenazine.

Interface‐Confined Cavitation at an MXene/TiO2 Schottky Heterointerface for Non‐Thermal Juice Preservation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work establishes an MXene/TiO2 Schottky heterointerface for non‐thermal sonocatalysis. Interface‐confined cavitation and dynamic Ti3+/V₀ shuttles drive charge transport and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. The platform achieves 3‐log pathogen reduction while retaining heat‐labile nutrients in complex food matrices, redefining sonocatalyst

Stroke‐Heart Syndrome: Mechanisms, Temporal Phenotypes, and Diagnostic Reasoning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stroke‐heart syndrome describes new or worsened cardiac abnormalities after acute stroke. This Review defines its clinical boundaries, traces autonomic, inflammatory, endothelial, and supply‐demand mechanisms across time, and proposes provisional phenotypes that integrate lesion location, premorbid cardiac substrate, serial biomarkers ...

Loss of Lepr in Fibroblasts Drives Tumor Development by Promoting Macrophage Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TNFα and TGFβ signaling reprograms Lepr+ fibroblasts toward a LeprnegMmphigh inflammatory CAF (iCAF) state, with downregulation of the Tcf21‐Lepr axis contributing to this transition. Lepr loss induces Csf3, which contributes to the enhanced macrophage‐recruiting capacity of these iCAFs, thereby promoting tumor development. Thus, inflammatory signaling

A UBE3A‐UTX Proteostasis‐Epigenetic Axis Governs Hypothalamic Energy Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ubiquitin protein ligase E3A (UBE3A) regulates hypothalamic energy homeostasis and promotes degradation of the histone demethylase UTX (KDM6A). Neuronal UBE3A loss increases susceptibility to diet‐induced obesity and is accompanied by UTX accumulation, reduced histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation, and altered endoplasmic reticulum stress‐responsive gene

Controlling Nutritional Status score and postmenopausal osteoporosis

Menopause, 2023
Abstract Objective This study investigated the association between CONUT score and postmenopausal osteoporosis. Methods Postmenopausal women who were seen at an outpatient clinic in a tertiary hospital for routine gynecologic examination between January 2017 and June 2022 ...

Nutritional status and volume control in adolescents on chronic hemodialysis

Pediatric Nephrology, 2021
Pediatric patients on maintenance hemodialysis (HD) are at risk of both malnutrition and fluid overload. This pilot study aimed to assess correlates of normalized protein catabolic rate (nPCR) in adolescents on chronic HD, in particular fluid status markers. All patients aged 10-18 years on chronic HD in our center between 2017 and 2019 were enrolled ...

Validity of the Controlling Nutritional Status score as a Nutritional Assessment Tool early after stroke

International Journal of Rehabilitation Research, 2021
Malnutrition is relatively common in stroke survivors and it also affects weight loss and muscle strength. Various nutritional assessment tools have been used to monitor changes in nutritional status. Among such tools, the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score is a convenient and cost-effective index calculated from serum albumin level, total ...

Prognostic value of preoperative controlling nutritional status in patients with glioblastoma

Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2020
Accumulating evidence has demonstrated a correlation of preoperative controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score with prognosis in several malignancies, but only few studies have explored the influence of preoperative COUNT score in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).
