Lipomyelomeningocele—Controversies in Management

open access: yesIndian Journal of Neurosurgery, 2018
Management of lipomyelomeningocele is one of the most discussed and controversial topics in recent years. Till date, there is no consensus on the most appropriate mode of management for lipomyelomeningocele, particularly in asymptomatic patients.

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Obstetric controversies in thyroidology

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2013
It is well known that thyroid disorders commonly affect women. The care of pregnant women affected by thyroid disease is an important clinical challenge for endocrinologists. Hypothyroidism is the commonest problem, and maternal hypothyroxinemia has been

2D Co‐Mo‐Hydroxide‐Based Multifunctional Material for the Development of H2‐Based Clean Energy Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

Effect of Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin Oxide on Reactivity and Durability of Perovskite Oxygen Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This table of contents illustrates that the mechanism for mitigating Sr segregation depends strongly on the chemistry of the coating layer. HfO2 electrostatically stabilizes the surface by lowering the surface oxygen vacancies, which serve as the driving force for Sr migration. On the other hand, Al2O3 and Fe2O3 react with segregated Sr to form Sr‐Al‐O

Relative Frequency Controversies and the Growth of Biological Knowledge

open access: yesPhilosophy, Theory, and Practice in Biology
Relative frequency controversies, so common in the biological sciences, pose something of a puzzle. Why do biologists routinely engage in disputes that (a) are rarely settled and (b) arguably wouldn’t yield interesting knowledge even if they were? Recent

Engineered Microfluidic Organoid Systems: New Paradigms for Menopause Mechanism Research and Personalized Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review explores the integration of microfluidic technology with organoid systems as an innovative platform for studying menopausea complex multi‐organ condition. By enabling precise simulation of inter‐organ communication and hormone responses, microfluidic organoids offer a physiologically relevant model for investigating menopausal syndrome and ...

Multi‐Site Transfer Classification of Major Depressive Disorder: An fMRI Study in 3335 Subjects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study proposes graph convolution network with sparse pooling to learn the hierarchical features of brain graph for MDD classification. Experiment is done on multi‐site fMRI samples (3335 subjects, the largest functional dataset of MDD to date) and transfer learning is applied, achieving an average accuracy of 70.14%.
