Controlling nutritional status score predicts clinical outcome in cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitor: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundTo investigate the association between pretreatment controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score and clinical outcomes for cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).MethodsWe conducted a comprehensive literature search of

Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score as a predictive marker for short-term complications following gastrectomy of gastric cancer: a retrospective study

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology, 2021
Background It is well established that the controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score was correlated with long-term outcomes in gastric cancer (GC), but the significance of CONUT for postoperative short-term outcomes remains unclear. The study aimed to

Preoperative Total Iron‐Binding Capacity Is a Potential Surrogate Marker of Long‐Term Outcomes After Pancreatectomy for Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Preoperative low serum total iron‐binding capacity (TIBC) was associated with poorer overall survival and recurrence‐free survival after pancreatectomy for pancreatic cancer. These findings suggest that preoperative serum TIBC may serve as a simple surrogate marker for long‐term outcomes in patients undergoing pancreatectomy.

Controlling nutritional status score during hospitalization as a predictor of clinical outcome in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a serious condition with high mortality and a high permanent disability rate. In this study, we examined the association of clinical outcome with the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score during ...

The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for the controlling nutritional status (CONUT).

open access: yes, 2015
We used the continuous variable Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) as the test variable and 5-year cancer-specific survival as the state variable. An investigation of the cut-off value for the CONUT score using the receiver operating characteristic ...

Prognostic importance of the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score in patients undergoing cardiac resynchronisation therapy

open access: yes, 2021
Aims Malnutrition is common and associated with worse clinical outcomes in patients with heart failure (HF). The Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score is an integrated index for evaluating diverse aspects of the complex mechanism of malnutrition ...

Preoperative controlling nutritional status score (CONUT) predicts postoperative complications of patients with bronchiectasis after lung resections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
BackgroundThe Controlled Nutritional Status (CONUT) score is a valid scoring system for assessing nutritional status and has been shown to correlate with clinical outcomes in many surgical procedures; however, no studies have reported a correlation ...

Comparison of six nutritional screening tool‐based Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition criteria models for predicting activities of daily living in older patients with subacute stroke: A single‐center retrospective cohort study

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) recommends a two‐step diagnostic process consisting of initial screening for malnutrition risk followed by diagnostic assessment. We evaluated the association between GLIM‐defined malnutrition identified using six alternative first‐step screening tools and Functional ...

Age‐Dependent Prognostic Significance of Preoperative Transthyretin After Curative Resection for Stage I–III Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 6, Page 1770-1779, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Preoperative malnutrition and systemic inflammation are established determinants of adverse outcomes in colorectal cancer (CRC). Transthyretin (TTR), a rapid‐turnover hepatic protein, reflects both nutritional and inflammatory status; however, its clinical utility may be influenced by age‐ and sex‐related variability.
