Fitted mesh method for a weakly coupled system of singularly perturbed reaction–convection–diffusion problems with discontinuous source term

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2018
In this article, a parameter-uniform numerical method for a weakly coupled system of singularly perturbed reaction–convection–diffusion problems with discontinuous source term containing two small parameters multiplied to the highest and second highest ...

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

Mineral Deposition From Liquid Precursors Triggered by Complementary Polyelectrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte additives can delay or prevent crystal nucleation in supersaturated solutions of insoluble mineral salts such as calcium carbonate. This work reports that adding a second, oppositely‐charged polyelectrolyte leads to immediate mineral crystallization from such metastable solutions.

Two-dimensional convection—diffusion problem solved using method of localized particular solutions

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
A meshless local method of approximated particular solutions (LMAPS) is used to analyze problem described by the convection-diffusion equation. The method solves the steady convection-diffusion equation with reaction term.

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

A parameter uniform numerical method for singularly perturbed delay problems with discontinuous convection coefficient

open access: yesArab Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2016
In this paper a standard numerical method with piecewise linear interpolation on Shishkin mesh is suggested to solve singularly perturbed boundary value problem for second order ordinary delay differential equations with discontinuous convection ...

Topology‐Orchestrated Multi‐physical Energy Control in Turtle Shell‐Inspired Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A turtle shell‐inspired lattice metamaterial efficiently manages acoustic, fluid‐thermal, and mechanical energy flows simultaneously. The unique hybrid‐coupling architecture achieves superior sound attenuation via pore‐cavity resonance, facilitates effective airflow transport, and maximizes mechanical energy absorption through multistage cell ...

Numerical solution of singularly perturbed convection–diffusion problem using parameter uniform B-spline collocation method

open access: yes, 2009
This paper is concerned with a numerical scheme to solve a singularly perturbed convection–diffusion problem. The solution of this problem exhibits the boundary layer on the right-hand side of the domain due to the presence of singular perturbation ...

Recent Advances in Ferrite‐Based Materials for Biomedical Applications: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ferrite nanoplatforms are presented as tunable biomedical materials in which synthesis control, cation engineering, defect/morphology regulation, and surface functionalization govern structure–property–bioactivity relationships. These design strategies enable multifunctional applications including MRI contrast, magnetic hyperthermia, targeted drug ...
