Comparison of CT angiography with conventional arterial angiography in aortoiliac occlusive disease
The British Journal of Radiology, 2001This study compared the results of conventional and CT angiography of the aortoiliac segment in 35 patients with occlusive disease. Disease severity was graded into five categories. Two assessors independently assessed the segment from the distal abdominal aorta to the proximal superficial femoral artery and a consensus was formed.

A Preliminary Report Comparing Magnetic Resonance Coronary Angiography with Conventional Angiography
New England Journal of Medicine, 1993The ability to assess the patency of coronary arteries by noninvasive means would represent an important advance. We have developed a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coronary angiographic technique that permits the display of areas of abnormal coronary blood flow.

To evaluate the use of spiral computed tomographic (CT) angiography in the analysis of the arteries of the circle of Willis and compare these results with magnetic resonance (MR) angiography and conventional angiography. The results in 17 patients who underwent examination were prospectively studied in a blinded fashion.

Femoral MR angiography versus conventional angiography: preliminary results.
Radiology, 1993To develop a bilateral femoral magnetic resonance (MR) angiographic examination that would include the aortic bifurcation to the ankle.Thirty-seven patients underwent conventional angiography and the bilateral femoral MR angiographic examination. Two-dimensional time-of-flight angiography was used for all studies. The femoral MR angiogram could have ...

Coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) has proven to be useful for noninvasive examination in patients with intermediate risk of coronary artery disease. However, data addressing patients' views of this relatively new diagnostic modality are sparse. For comparison of CTA and invasive coronary angiography (CA), a total of 127 patients referred ...

Comparison of radiation-induced damage between CT angiography and conventional coronary angiography
Acta Cardiologica, 2013Both computed tomography (CTA) and conventional angiography (CCA) can provide direct visualization of the coronary arteries. The aim of the present study was to compare the radiation exposure between CTA and CCA and to search whether this amount of radiation causes significant DNA damage.Seventy-two patients who underwent CTA or CCA were enrolled ...

Conventional and Digital Subtraction Angiography
1990Angiography of the thoracic vessels has a key role in the management of pulmonary embolism, hemoptysis, arteriovenous fistula, and aortic aneurysms. In addition to the diagnostic information obtained by this procedure, angiographic catheter techniques are now being used as effective tools in the treatment of pulmonary embolism by intraarterial ...

A comparison between dual axis rotational coronary angiography and conventional coronary angiography
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2012AbstractBackground: Coronary angiography remains the gold standard for the investigation of coronary artery disease, and is carried out in multiple, predefined stationary views, at different angulations around the patient, for both left and right coronary arteries. Dual axis rotational coronary angiography (DARA) is an alternative technique wherein the

Invasive or non invasive angiography? The role of conventional catheter angiography
Der Radiologe, 1997Within the last decade, diagnostic and interventional angiography have been developed to a high degree of performance, due to the widespread use od DSA, the miniaturisation of the puncture trauma and the introduction sets (catheters, sheaths), the development of high-tech materials (e.g., Nitinol guidewires) and the application of non-ionic, low ...

We prospectively compared duplex ultrasonography with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and conventional angiography in the evaluation of carotid atherosclerosis by studying 494 arteries. Arteries were graded independently as normal, mildly stenotic, moderately stenotic, severely stenotic, or occluded.
