Do We Need Conventional Angiography?
Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, 1997Sixteen cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) were examined to determine the role of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in verifying obliteration. The AVMs (mean volume 7.5 cm3, range 2–17 cm3) were treated with Gamma Knife surgery between March 1993 and May 1994.

Carotid artery stenosis: a prospective comparison of CT angiography and conventional angiography.
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1994The purpose of this study was to prospectively compare CT angiography with conventional angiography for detecting stenosis at the carotid bifurcation.Thirty-five patients referred for evaluation of carotid artery disease were studied with conventional angiography followed by CT angiography 4-24 hr later. Seventy carotid arteries were studied.

Conventional MRI and MR Angiography of Stroke
2010In the setting of acute stroke, MRA is useful for determining the severity of stenosis, vascular occlusion, and collateral flow. CE MRA and 3D TOF techniques have relatively high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating surgical from nonsurgical carotid stenoses.

[Possibilities of conventional intravenous subtraction angiography].
Rontgen-Blatter; Zeitschrift fur Rontgen-Technik und medizinisch-wissenschaftliche Photographie, 1984Basing on the experiences collected with 127 patients, the pros and cons as well as the indications for intravenous angiography with conventional photographic subtraction technique (ISA) are discussed in comparison with rival procedures. ISA can be performed in every angiography unit without any additional investment, and its possibilities of use are ...

[Indications and results of conventional pulmonary angiography].
Archives des maladies du coeur et des vaisseaux, 1996Pulmonary angiography remains the only investigation which, in all cases, allows confirmation or exclusion of the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism, providing that the technical quality is satisfactory. However, its "invasive" nature is a limitation and its place in the diagnostic strategy of venous thromboembolic disease is the object of on-going ...

[Can MR angiography (MRA) replace conventional diagnostic angiography?].
Harefuah, 2003Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) is a reliable and accurate tool for imaging the vascular tree. In the current state of the art, most of the vascular pathologies can be accurately diagnosed by MRA using MR machines equipped with very fast pulse sequences and highly sensitive gradients.
