Evaluation of Nested Polymerase Chain Reaction for Rapid Diagnosis of Clinically Suspected Tuberculous Pleurisy [PDF]
Background: Early diagnosis of tuberculosis is important in its control. The conventional techniques like smear microscopy and culture suffer from low sensitivity for diagnosis of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis like Pleural Tuberculosis (PTB) due to ...

The significance of augmentedhigh-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion detection on pap test examination: partial results from the RODEO study team [PDF]
OBJECTIVE: This study sought to ascertain the significance of augmented high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) detection by Pap test using both conventional smear and liquid-based cytology (LBC) in a high-risk population.

Background: Cervical Pap smear is a form of exfoliative cytology and has been widely accepted as a screening tool for cervical cancers. Among the various devices for collecting samples from cervix, wooden Ayre spatula and cytobrush are used commonly. Ayre spatula collects cells from the ectocervix whereas cytobrush from the transformation zone (TZ) and

Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Atypical glandular cells in conventional cervical smears: Incidence and follow-up [PDF]
Atypical glandular cells on cervical smears are often associated with clinically significant uterine lesions. The frequency and accuracy of AGC-NOS (i.e. atypical glandular cells, not otherwise specified) diagnoses, regardless of the gland cell type or the degree of suspicion, and their outcome were investigated. From January 1, 1990 to December 31 ...

One‐dimensional C4N2H14PbBr4 is shown to have a quasi‐direct electronic band structure and strongly anisotropic transport with polarized broadband emission. A GW/Bethe–Salpeter excited‐state force formalism, supported by polarized Raman and temperature‐dependent photoluminescence, identifies low–frequency Pb–Br phonons that drive ultrafast exciton self‐

Liquid metal additives are processed in elastomer host resulting in highly conductive and stretchable composites. The material functions as a piezoresistive sensor with minimal drift, low stiffness, and enhanced operating range. The film can replace wires to charge a mobile phone at ∼350% strain and monitors bodily motion in real‐time via a portable ...
