On convergence criteria for jarratt's method

Journal of the Franklin Institute, 1984
Let f(\(\chi)\) together with its first two derivatives be continuous in the domain \({\mathbb{D}}\) and additionally let \(\chi_ M\in {\mathbb{D}}\) be an extremum (or turning point) of this function. Also, let \(\chi_{n+1}=T(\chi_ n,\chi_{n-1},\chi_{n-2})\) be the value obtained by the method of \textit{P. Jarratt} [Computer J.

Weaker convergence criteria for Traub's method

Journal of Complexity, 2022
The Traub's method [\textit{J. F. Traub}, Iterative methods for the solution of equations. Englewood Cliffs: Prentice-Hall, Inc. (1964; Zbl 0121.11204)] for solving the nonlinear equation \[ F(x)=0 \] is defined by the iterative sequence \(\{x_n\}\) given by \[ \begin{cases} y_k=x_k-F'(x_k)^{-1} F(x_k)\\ x_{k+1}=y_k-F'(x_k)^{-1} F(y_k), \,k\geq 0, \end{

Stability criteria for converging shock waves

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1978
Two simple analytical criteria are presented to determine approximately the region of (form and radial) stability for converging (shock) waves as function of the perturbation parameters amplitude Δr/R and center angle γ. By comparison with computer calculations these criteria were found to be safe approximations.

The Convergence Criteria: Price Stability

1997
The behaviour of prices is a fundamental indicator of the health of an economy. In any competitive economy with a large degree of freedom from government intervention (a decentralised or market economy), the forces of supply and demand are co-ordinated and made consistent with each other by movements in prices.

Convergence criteria for iterative nonlinear filters

[Proceedings] 1992 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2003
The authors present a general theory for the convergence of iterative nonlinear filters. An introduction to lattice theory is provided, and the theory of mathematical morphology is presented in the context of lattice theory. An important form of a nonlinear filter is provided by the iteration of the original nonlinear filter.

The Convergence Criteria: Budgetary Conditions

1997
Government borrowing has traditionally been viewed as a sign of weakness in an economy, a necessary policy that has the object of stimulating economic activity and employment by injecting increased purchasing power into a depressed economic system. If a country is running a budget deficit, this means that government expenditure for that economy is ...

Convergence criteria for iterative restoration methods

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1983
While many iterative signal restoration methods have been shown to converge in the mathematical sense, a practical criterion is needed to indicate when the numerical algorithm has converged. The use of the residual signal in defining such a criterion is investigated.

Compactness Criteria for Discrete Convergence

1985
We begin this chapter by defining the concept of a discretely compact sequence of elements, and use this notion to introduce the concepts of a-regular, regularly convergent, and discretely compact operator sequences. These properties provide criteria for inverse stability (respectively, bistability) which, as we know from the theory developed in the ...
