Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Semi-Local Convergence of Two Derivative-Free Methods of Order Six for Solving Equations under the Same Conditions

open access: yesFoundations, 2022
We propose the semi-local convergence of two derivative-free, competing methods of order six to address non-linear equations. The sufficient convergence criteria are the same, making a direct comparison between them possible.

Local limit theorems in free probability theory

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we study the superconvergence phenomenon in the free central limit theorem for identically distributed, unbounded summands. We prove not only the uniform convergence of the densities to the semicircular density but also their $L^p ...

Convergence of single-step free energy perturbation

open access: yesMolecular Physics, 2016
The convergence of free energy perturbation (Zwanzig's equation) and its non-equilibrium extension (Jarzynski's equation) is herein investigated from a practical point of view. We focus on cases where neither intermediate steps nor two-sided methods (Bennett, Crooks) can be used to compute the free energy difference of interest.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Double Hyperbolic Reaching Law With Chattering-Free and Fast Convergence

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper proposes a novel continuous reaching law for chattering-free sliding mode control by using two hyperbolic functions with similar changing rate and opposite amplitude characteristics.

Extra-Regional Influence on the Development of Economic Integration in the ASEAN Region

open access: yesЕвразийская интеграция: экономика, право, политика, 2023
This study discusses the extra-regional influence and scenarios for the development of regional integration of the countries of the Association of States Southeast Asia (ASEAN), in particular, the role of the future free trade agreement between the EAEU ...

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Convergence of digitized-counterdiabatic QAOA: circuit depth versus free parameters

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Recently, digitized-counterdiabatic (CD) quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) has been proposed to make QAOA converge to the solution of an optimization problem in fewer steps, inspired by Trotterized CD driving in continuous-time quantum ...
