Absolute Convergence in Ordered Fields
The American Mathematical Monthly, 2014We explore the distinction between convergence and absolute convergence of se- ries in both Archimedean and non-Archimedean ordered fields and find that the relationship between them is closely connected to sequential (Cauchy) completeness.

Orders of convergence for superlineary convergent chaotic iterations
Computing, 1991If on computers with multiprocessors individual processors are allowed to proceed without waiting for each other it is natural to consider so- called chaotic iterations for computations on such computers. The author proves a theorem giving conditions for superlinear convergence of chaotic iterations in an appropriate setting.

Orders of Convergence for Iterative Procedures
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1971This paper is concerned with the order of convergence of iterative procedures for finding a zero of a nonlinear function defined on $R^n $. Some of the results provide conditions for determining the precise order of convergence of a method rather than the usual lower bound on the order.

On the Convergence of the Jacobi Method for Arbitrary Orderings
SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 1995Some new results concerning the effect of the ordering on the rate of convergence of the Jacobi iteration for computing eigenvalues of symmetric matrices are presented. Section 2 shows that the diagonal elements converge for any ordering. The basic fact that different parts of the matrix converge at different speeds is developed and a strategy that ...

Convergence rates and convergence-order profiles for sequences
Acta Applicandae Mathematicae, 1990The authors investigate a number of methods of measuring convergence rates of sequences and clarify the relationships between these different measures of convergence rates. The authors give eight such measurement methods and demonstrate relations between them. We formulate one of the statements of the present paper.

Stratified L-ordered convergence structures
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2010SL-OCS stands for stratified \(L\)-ordered convergence spaces. SL-GCS stands for stratified \(L\)-generalized convergence spaces. The main results are the following: 1. The category of SL-OCS is a reflective full subcategory in the category of SL-GCS. 2. The category of SL-OCS is topological and Cartesian-closed.

Convergence and Ordering of Kohonen's Batch Map
Neural Computation, 1997The convergence and ordering of Kohonen's batch-mode self-organizing map with Heskes and Kappen's (1993) winner selection are proved. Selim and Ismail's (1984) objective function for k-means clustering is generalized in the convergence proof of the self-organizing map.
