Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

On the conversion of dose to bone to dose to water in radiotherapy treatment planning systems

open access: yesPhysics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology, 2018
Background and purpose: Conversion factors between dose to medium (Dm,m) and dose to water (Dw,w) provided by treatment planning systems that model the patient as water with variable electron density are currently based on stopping power ratios.

Correction Factors for Determining the Mass Transfer Coefficients

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2021
A number of industrial operations are linked to mass transfer. The mass transfer coefficient value is necessary to know when designing the industrial equipment in which mass transfer occurs.

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Estimation of bovine equalizing units in India: A regional perspective

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2019
Study was conducted to formulate region specific standard animal units (SAUs) more comprehensively by considering labour utilization as well as size of animals. Both primary as well as secondary data were used in the study.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

High efficiency dark-to-bright exciton conversion in carbon nanotubes

open access: yes, 2019
We report that dark excitons can have a large contribution to the emission intensity in carbon nanotubes due to an efficient exciton conversion from a dark state to a bright state.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
