A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Fifty four consecutive subjects diagnosed as Hysteria (300.1 according to ICD‐9), were taken up for study, to examine the usefulness and validity of Lazare's criteria and explore its clinical utility in diagnosing conversion disorders. Lazare's validation score was computed for each subject, and the specificity, sensitivity, positive predictive ...

Hypnosis and Conversion Disorders
American Journal of Psychotherapy, 1989A review of the literature shows that presently held views on the relation between hypnosis and conversion disorders had their origin in the previous century. This also holds for therapeutic techniques as they are still applied today. A case report illustrates that successful symptom removal may be independent of the patient's hypnotizability and of ...

Misdiagnosis of Conversion Disorders
American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, 2002Five cases are presented describing the clinical features for which they were referred and admitted to a rehabilitation unit and later identified as having been misdiagnosed as having a conversion disorder. The diagnoses were sarcoma-induced osteomalacia, cerebellar medulloblastoma, Huntington's chorea, transverse myelitis, and lower extremity dystonia.

Conversion disorders: An overview
Psychosomatics, 1985Abstract Despite a rich medical history, conversion disorders remain an elusive clinical phenomenon. Theoretical formulations have often taken precedence over empiric data. This review suggests that, with the exception of demonstrable nonpsysiologic findings, no other clinical or historical information provides other than “soft” data to support a ...
