Study on the Time–Frequency Characteristics of Excitation Inrush Current and Its Induced Converter Transformer Vibration

open access: yesApplied Sciences
An inrush current will be generated inside a converter transformer during no-load switching on or off. The inrush current will cause severe vibration of the winding and other components of the converter transformer.

Core-less multiphase converter with transformer coupling [PDF]

open access: yes2010 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2010
A coupled multiphase converter where the coupling among the phases is done using core-less planar transformers is presented in this paper. Operating principle of the transformer-coupled converter has been presented previously in the literature and in this paper this concept is applied to develop a core-less converter.

Simulation and Modeling of a AC-DC Converter Controlled by Pulse Width Modulation Using Soft Switching topology

open access: yesمجلة علوم ذي قار, 2019
This work presents the design, analysis, and simulation of AC-DC converter topology incorporating a voltage source converter (VSC) and a direct converter, connected with medium frequency transformer isolation.

Mathematical modeling and experimental research on grounding current calculation of converter transformer core

open access: yesMeasurement + Control
When the converter transformer core is grounded at multi-points, a fault loop will be formed and a circulation will be generated, leading to local overheating of the magnetic core and decomposition of insulating oil.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Noise characteristics and prediction methods of operating converter transformers

open access: yes电力工程技术
Due to the presence of harmonics, the noise characteristics of converter transformers differ significantly from those of ordinary transformers. Currently, the mechanism through which harmonics affect noise is not clearly understood, necessitating ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
