String topology via the coHochschild complex and local intersections

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract We construct an algebraic model for the Chas–Sullivan product and the Goresky–Hingston coproduct in string topology. The construction takes as its initial input a simplicial complex equipped with a local pairing on its simplicial chains, for instance, a homology manifold with its local intersection pairing.

From points to complexes: A concept of unexpectedness for simplicial complexes

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 114, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract In 2018, Cook, Harbourne, Migliore, and Nagel introduced the concept of unexpected hypersurfaces, which connects the study of Lefschetz properties of Artinian algebras defined by powers of linear forms to a family of interpolation problems.

Maximum Likelihood Coordinates

open access: yes, 2023
Any point inside a d-dimensional simplex can be expressed in a unique way as a convex combination of the simplex's vertices, and the coefficients of this combination are called the barycentric coordinates of the point. The idea of barycentric coordinates

Ewald's Conjecture and integer points in algebraic and symplectic toric geometry

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 132, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract We solve several open problems concerning integer points of reflexive smooth polytopes, also known as monotone polytopes. While the paper belongs to the realm of discrete geometry, the connection with symplectic and algebraic geometry appears naturally since these polytopes have an important role in both areas.

Behaviour of exponential three-point coordinates at the vertices of convex polygons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Barycentric coordinates provide a convenient way to represent a point inside a triangle as a convex combination of the triangle’s vertices and to linearly interpolate data given at these vertices.

Toric amplitudes and universal adjoints

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract A toric amplitude is a rational function associated with a simplicial polyhedral fan. The definition is inspired by scattering amplitudes in particle physics. We prove algebraic properties of such amplitudes and study the geometry of their zero loci. These hypersurfaces play the role of Warren's adjoint via a dual volume interpretation.

Barycentric coordinates for convex sets

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we provide an extension of barycentric coordinates from simplices to arbitrary convex sets. Barycentric coordinates over convex 2D polygons have found numerous applications in various fields as they allow smooth interpolation of data ...

Deadbeat Robust Model Predictive Control: Robustness Without Computing Robust Invariant Sets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 428-438, 10 January 2026.
ABSTRACT Deadbeat Robust Model Predictive Control (DRMPC) is introduced as a new approach of Robust Model Predictive Control (RMPC) for linear systems with additive disturbances. Its main idea is to completely extinguish the effect of the disturbances in the predictions within a small number of time steps, called the deadbeat horizon.

A Computational Journey Toward an Optimal Design for Metamaterial Epicardial Passive Sleeves

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 4, 26 January 2026.
Passive epicardial sleeves are evaluated in 3D in‐silico heart models to reveal how sleeve geometry, stiffness, anisotropy, and metamaterial architecture influence cardiac mechanics after myocardial infarction. A continuum‐to‐auxetic design exploration shows that region‐specific mechanical engagement can reduce infarct bulging and modulate torsional ...

Barycentric Coordinates

open access: yes, 2023
