Hair Follicle Seedling Cryomicroneedles from Hierarchical Microfluidic Organoid on a Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this paper, a hierarchical microfluidic chip is developed to produce uniform hair follicle organoids (HFOs) in cryomicroneedles. Cryopreservation agents encapsulate HFOs, preserving viability and hair growth potential. The cryomicroneedles enable simple intradermal transplantation with good skin penetration.

Supercritical CO2‐Induced Porous MXene Films for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Infrared Stealth

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The phase transition of supercritical CO2 induces the foaming of dense MXene film without compromise inherent structure of MXene nanosheet. The foamed porous MXene film manifests remarkable EMI shielding and infrared thermal camouflage performances. Moreover, the foaming strategy is broadly adaptable and can be extended to other two‐dimensional films ...

On the Algebraic Properties of Convex Bodies [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
AMS subject classification: 52A01, 13C99.The algebraic properties of the convex bodies are studied. A theorem of H. Rådström for embedding of convex bodies in a normed vector space is generalized by using a natural extension of the multiplication by ...

A Machine Vision‐Guided Microphysiological Platform With Automated Microfluidics Enables Longitudinal Biomarker Monitoring and Emulation of Translationally Relevant Exposure Scenarios

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pneumatically actuated multi‐tissue microphysiological system is integrated with AI‐based machine vision and automatic sampling and replenishment systems. The platform allows for the emulation of translationally relevant long‐term pharmacokinetic exposure scenarios for multiple weeks while enabling longitudinal monitoring of response biomarkers ...

2-Convex bodies

open access: yes
Convex bodies with uniformly quadratic convexity modulus, also called 2-convex bodies, are presented. Examples are given below and several properties are demonstrated, including the slicing problem, some operations that preserve 2-convexity, and ...

From Cytoskeletal Remodeling to Oocyte Quality: The Emerging Role of Mechanics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical properties of the oocyte are increasingly recognized as critical determinants of meiotic success and developmental potential. How actomyosin remodeling controls oocyte mechanics, how these properties are altered in pathological conditions, and how they could serve as markers in reproductive medicine are examined.

Asymmetry of the Vertebral Body and Pedicles in the True Transverse Plane in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis

open access: yesGlobal Spine Journal, 2016
Introduction Several studies have reported asymmetry of the vertebral bodies and between the concave and convex pedicles in AIS. There is ongoing debate about its magnitude and whether this caused by a primary growth disturbance, or is secondary to ...

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.
