Foreign labor, peer‐networking and agricultural efficiency in the Italian dairy sector
Abstract While the presence of immigrants in the agricultural sector is widely acknowledged, the empirical evidence on its economic consequences is lacking, especially from a microeconomic perspective. Using the Farm Accountancy Data Network panel data for Italian dairy farms in the period 2008–2018, the present study investigates the relationship ...

Convex Bodies with Equipotential Circles
Given a convex body $K\subset \mathbb R^2$ we say that a circle $Ω\subset \text{int} \ K$ is an equipotential circle if every tangent line of $Ω$ cuts a chord $AB$ in $K$ such that for the contact point $P=Ω\cap AB$ it holds that $|AP|\cdot|PB|=λ$, for a suitable constant number $λ$.

Depth functions based on a number of observations of a random vector [PDF]
We present two statistical depth functions given in terms of the random variable defined as the minimum number of observations of a random vector that are needed to include a fixed given point in their convex hull.

ABSTRACT Past growth in the global organic market has been concentrated in high‐income countries, while in middle‐income countries such as Serbia the organic market remains nascent and characterized by a sparse assortment of organic products, high retail premia and limited evidence on consumer preferences and their drivers.

Sections of convex bodies with symmetries
In this paper we study how certain symmetries of convex bodies affect their geometric properties. In particular, we consider the impact of symmetries generated by the block diagonal subgroup of orthogonal transformations, generalizing complex and ...

ABSTRACT Aim To examine the significance of portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) as a prognostic factor for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) treated with chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by surgery. Methods The study retrospectively examined 313 patients with borderline resectable (BR) or locally advanced (LA) PDAC who underwent CRT ...

A novel machine learning approach classifies macrophage phenotypes with up to 98% accuracy using only nuclear morphology from DAPI‐stained images. Bypassing traditional surface markers, the method proves robust even on complex textured biomaterial surfaces. It offers a simpler, faster alternative for studying macrophage behavior in various experimental

Properties of extremal convex bodies
In 1948 Besicovitch proved that an affine image of a regular hexagon may be inscribed into an arbitrary planar convex body. We prove Besicovitch's result using a variational approach based on special approximation by triangles and generalize the ...
