$r$--convex transformability in nonlinear programming problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
summary:We show that for $r$-convex transformable nonlinear programming problems the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker necessary optimality conditions are also sufficient and we provide a method of solving such problems with the aid of associated $r$-convex ...

On calmness conditions in convex bilevel programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this article we compare two different calmness conditions which are widely used in the literature on bilevel programming and on mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints.

Received signal strength–based target localization under spatially correlated shadowing via convex optimization relaxation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2018
Received signal strength–based target localization methods normally employ radio propagation path loss model, in which the log-normal shadowing noise is generally assumed to follow a zero-mean Gaussian distribution and is uncorrelated.

CMOS‐Integrated Synaptic Photoreceptor Chip Inspired by Insect Visual Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CMOS‐integrated Si QDs/ReS2 synaptic photoreceptor array mimics the parallel processing and wavelength‐selective strategy of insect vision. By combining intrinsic ultraviolet‐violet sensitivity with synaptic plasticity, the chip enables frontend sensory redundancy reduction without external filters, offering a scalable pathway toward lowpower ...

A High‐Throughput Live Imaging Platform to Investigate Circuit‐Dependent Regulation of Circadian Rhythms in Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biological rhythms coordinate physiology, from genes to behavior. Study of circadian rhythms in brain tissue is constrained by limited throughput and spatial and temporal information quality. A new platform for high‐throughput, long‐term multiplexed fluorescent live imaging of circadian rhythms in brain slices is introduced.

A deep cut ellipsoid algorithm for convex programming

open access: yes
This paper proposes a deep cut version of the ellipsoid algorithm for solving a general class of continuous convex programming problems. In each step the algorithm does not require more computational effort to construct these deep cuts than its ...

Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

Matrix convex functions with applications to weighted centers for semidefinite programming

open access: yes
In this paper, we develop various calculus rules for general smooth matrix-valued functions and for the class of matrix convex (or concave) functions first introduced by Loewner and Kraus in 1930s.

A Flexible Metamaterial Absorber via Loss Engineering for Large‐Area Ultra‐Broadband Infrared Extinction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Designed and demonstrated a flexible metamaterial absorber via loss engineering for large‐area ultra‐broadband infrared extinction, providing a new method for miniaturization of absorbers and flexible optical devices. ABSTRACT The advancement of compact and wearable optical systems is critically limited by the lack of high‐performance, integrable ...

SERRATE Regulates Floral Meristem Activity by Antagonizing SHOOT MERISTEMLESS and Repressing Cytokinin Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.
