Spatial depth for data in metric spaces

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We propose a novel measure of statistical depth, the metric spatial depth, for data residing in an arbitrary metric space. The measure assigns high (low) values for points located near (far away from) the bulk of the data distribution, allowing quantifying their centrality/outlyingness.

A novel dual‐decomposition method for non‐convex two‐stage stochastic mixed‐integer quadratically constrained quadratic problems

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 3128-3157, September 2026.
Abstract We propose the novel p‐branch‐and‐bound method for solving two‐stage stochastic programming problems whose deterministic equivalents are represented by non‐convex mixed‐integer quadratically constrained quadratic programming (MIQCQP) models. The precision of the solution generated by the p‐branch‐and‐bound method can be arbitrarily adjusted by

An Efficient Geometrically‐Exact Nonlinear Shell Formulation Based on Rodrigues Parameters

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 26, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Thin‐walled structures are part of many engineering applications, as wind turbine blades, pressure vessels, and sheet metal products. A thin‐walled structure is characterized by one significantly smaller dimension compared to the others.

Paying for Health Gains Using Patient Reported Outcome Measures

open access: yesHealth Economics, Volume 35, Issue 5, Page 831-847, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Payments to healthcare providers are often based on the number of patients with a particular diagnosis or treatment with well known limitations. Payment based on health outcomes, a form of pay‐for‐performance, has long been advocated as a possible solution.

Spatial Image Gradient Estimation From the Diffusion MRI Profile

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 5, Page 2980-2991, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose In the course of diffusion, water molecules encounter varying values for the relaxation‐time properties of the underlying tissue. This factor, which has rarely been accounted for in diffusion MRI (dMRI), is modeled in this work, allowing for the estimation of the gradient of relaxation‐time properties from the dMRI signal. Methods With
