New Convolutional Codes Derived from Algebraic Geometry Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we construct new families of convolutional codes. Such codes are obtained by means of algebraic geometry codes. Additionally, more families of convolutional codes are constructed by means of puncturing, extending, expanding and by the direct product code construction applied to algebraic geometry codes.

Binary convolutional codes with optimal column distances [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
There exists a large literature of construction of convolutional codes with maximal or near maximal free distance. Much less is known about constructions of convolutional codes having optimal or near optimal column distances. In this paper, a new construction of convolutional codes over the binary field with optimal column distances is presented.

Optoelectronic Devices for In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The raw data obtained directly from sensors in the noisy analogue domain is often unstructured, which lacks a predefined format or organization and does not conform to a specific data model. Optoelectronic devices for in‐sensor visual processing can integrate perception, memory, and processing functions in the same physical units, which can compress ...

The Effect Of Constraint Length And Interleaver On The Performance Of Turbo Code [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2010
This paper presents a class derived from convolutional code called turbo code. Theperformance of turbo code is investigated through examining the effect of different constraintlength, the effect of changing rate, and the effect of interleaver on the ...

Complete MDP convolutional codes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra and Its Applications, 2019
Maximum distance profile (MDP) convolutional codes have the property that their column distances are as large as possible. It has been shown that, transmitting over an erasure channel, these codes have optimal recovery rate for windows of a certain length. Reverse MDP convolutional codes have the additional advantage that they are suitable for forward

Engineering CAR‐T Therapeutics for Enhanced Solid Tumor Targeting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CART cell therapy has proven effective for blood cancers but struggles with solid tumors due to diverse antigens and complex environments. Recent efforts focus on improving CAR design and validation platforms. Advances in protein engineering, machine learning, and organoid systems aim to enhance CAR‐T therapy against solid tumors.

Generalized Punctured Convolutional Codes with Unequal Error Protection

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2009
We conduct a code search restricted to the recently introduced class of generalized punctured convolutional codes (GPCCs) to find good unequal error protection (UEP) convolutional codes for a prescribed minimal trellis complexity.
