A New Alternate Method to Reuse Rehashed Edible Oil for the Betterment of Society - Dual Benefit Approach in Photovoltaic Modules

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The Photovoltaic (PV) cell converts a portion of incident irradiation of visible wavelength into electricity and the remaining into heat, thereby decreasing the electrical efficiency. Hence, it is necessary to transfer the heat generated in the module by

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Dynamics model for the thermal performance from a lyophilization process, based on a complete transfer functions matrix

open access: yesRevista de Ciencias Tecnológicas, 2020
During the beginning of the XX century lyophilization was developed as an alternative technology to extend the storage time for fruit and vegetables or other kind of food; however, the energetic consumption of this technology makes it not an option for ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

The impact of a register on the management of neonatal cooling in Switzerland.

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND Therapeutic hypothermia following hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy in term infants was introduced into Switzerland in 2005. Initial documentation of perinatal and resuscitation details was poor and neuromonitoring insufficient.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
