Rationalization of cooling water consumption in extraction system B-811 LSV
Water (drinkable) is vital natural resource, and during the last few decades it is imperative to reduce its needless consumption. Extraction devices are known for their significant cooling water consumption and laboratory scale devices mainly use ...

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

The Effect of Packing on Temperature and Pressure Drop in Mechanical Counter Flow Cooling Tower [PDF]
Cooling towers are widely used in most industrial units to reject waste heat to the atmosphere. This paper deals with an experimental analysis of heat and mass transfer phenomena between water and air by direct contact in a cooling tower.

The Binary Cooling Tower Process: An Energy Conserving Water Reuse Technology
The Binary Cooling Tower (BCT) harnesses cooling system waste heat to accomplish concentration of waste and process streams. The BCT can also be integrated to isolate and improve the efficiency of critical cooling loops. This paper describes the BCT, its

Impact of MgO Additions on the Oxidation Resistance and Compression Behavior of Vanadium Alloys
An increase in oxidation resistance at 600 °C is achieved for alloys containing more than 2.5 wt.% MgO. It has been established that, along with V2O5, MgO6V2, and Mg2O7V2 are formed, which are presumed to enhance oxidative stability. Furthermore, the possible transformation of Mg‐vanadates through reaction with CO2, which presumably occurs in this ...

Cooling towers have been on the scene for more than 50 years. It is because they have proven to be an economic choice for waste heat dissipation. But it seems, for some reason, that after installation very little attention is paid to the cooling-tower ...
