Fucosylation limits ADCC in clinically used anti‐RhD monoclonal antibodies

open access: yesTransfusion, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Haemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN) is caused by maternal alloantibodies, often targeting the D antigen on fetal red blood cells. Maternal immunization is preventable with timely administration of anti‐D polyclonal antibodies (pAbs).

Recognition of Transfusion With Microcytic Packed Red Blood Cells on ADVIA 2120i RBC V/HC Cytograms: A Case Report

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 3‐year‐old, intact female Havanese dog was presented for treatment of a relapse of suspected immune‐mediated anemia and thrombocytopenia. Maternal serum and cord blood anti-A and Anti-B antibody levels as a predictor of significant hyperbilirubinemia in newborns

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science
BACKGROUND: Hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN) was more common due to Rh incompatibility. Its prevalence has decreased due to introduction of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) prophylaxis against RhD antigen.

Heat thermotherapy to improve cardiovascular function and cardiometabolic health: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Heat thermotherapy (HT) is reported to promote cardiovascular (CV) and cardiometabolic health benefits. This systematic review and meta‐analysis (CRD42020193669) empirically investigated the efficacy of HT in improving CV and cardiometabolic parameters by assessing responses to single versus multiple HT bouts.

Eight weeks of post‐exercise local heating does not improve cognition and plasma brain‐derived neurotrophic factor concentrations

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Exercise and heat stress have been reported to independently provide benefits to brain health. We tested the hypothesis that 8 weeks of post‐exercise local heating, passive local heating only, or exercise training only improves cognitive performance compared to a control group.

Comparative evaluation of the Brucella Coombs gel test in laboratory diagnosis of human brucellosis

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2016
Brucellosis is widespread among humans and animals. Diagnosis of brucellosis mostly depends on serological methods. Serological tests are preferred over time-consuming and hazardous bacterial cultures in routine laboratory practice.
