A novel adaptive cooperative diversity scheme

2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2010
Cooperative diversity network has been recently proposed as a way to form virtual antenna arrays that can be used to improve the performance of the wireless network. This paper presents a novel adaptive cooperative diversity scheme with two relays using incremental relaying (TR) protocol.

Evolution of cooperation driven by the diversity of emotions

Connection Science, 2014
Biotic individuals often compare their own payoffs with those of others, which results in endogenetic emotions ranging from compassion to harshness towards a weaker player or from respect to envy feeling against a stronger fellow. Consequently, the individual reaction can be a cooperative or defect act.

Modulation diversity benefits in cooperative communications

2010 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS), 2010
In this paper we propose modulation diversity as a candidate diversity scheme for uncoded cooperative communication in wireless networks with decode-and-forward (DF) communication protocol. A performance analysis of such a scheme in Nakagami-m fading channels in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is presented.

A network coding approach to cooperative diversity

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2007
This paper proposes a network coding approach to cooperative diversity featuring the algebraic superposition of channel codes over a finite field. The scenario under consideration is one in which two ldquopartnersrdquo - node A and node B - cooperate in transmitting information to a single destination; each partner transmits both locally generated ...

Performance analysis of coded cooperation diversity

IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2003. ICC '03., 2004
In a multi-user environment, coded cooperation creates transmit diversity for small mobiles (e.g. handsets) that cannot support more than one antenna. Coded cooperation allows these mobiles to share their antennas via a simple and effective coding method.

Cooperative diversity based on code superposition

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006
This paper proposes a new approach to cooperative diversity based on the algebraic superposition of channel codes over a finite field. The scenario under consideration is one in which two "partners" ? Node A and Node B ? cooperate in transmitting information to a single destination; each partner transmits both locally-generated information and relayed ...

Evolution of cooperation with interactive identity and diversity

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2018
Interactive identity and interactive diversity are generally regarded as two typical interaction patterns in living systems. The former describes that in each generation every individual behaves identically to all of its opponents, and the latter allows each individual to behave diversely to its distinct opponents.

Diversity analysis of irregular fractional cooperation

2009 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2009
In fractional cooperation, each available relay node selects a small fraction of the source's transmission to be relayed. In previous work, it was assumed that every node relayed the same number of source symbols, and large diversity order gains were observed.

Understanding Cooperation With Police in a Diverse Society

British Journal of Criminology, 2011
Past research has shown that procedural justice enhances an authority’s legitimacy and encourages people to cooperate with them. However, this past research has examined legitimacy by focusing solely on the perceived legitimacy of authorities and has ignored how people may perceive the legitimacy of the laws and rules authorities enforce.

Diversity of rationality affects the evolution of cooperation

Physical Review E, 2009
By modifying the Fermi updating rule, we present the diversity of individual rationality to the evolutionary prisoner's dilemma game, and our results shows that this diversity heavily influences the evolution of cooperation. Cluster-forming mechanism of cooperators can either be highly enhanced or severely deteriorated by different distributions of ...
