Analysis of transformation coordinates between coordinate systems D48/GK and D96/TM for a small area [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The following thesis presents the transformation between coordinate systems D48/GK and D96/TM. The coordinates of tie points in the coordinate system D48/GK are known.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

CooT: Learning to Coordinate In-Context with Coordination Transformers

open access: yesCoRR
Effective coordination among artificial agents in dynamic and uncertain environments remains a significant challenge in multi-agent systems. Existing approaches, such as self-play and population-based methods, either generalize poorly to unseen partners or require impractically extensive fine-tuning.

Generalized coordinate transformation and gas-kinetic scheme

open access: yes, 2015
Under a generalized coordinate transformation with inclusion of both mesh velocity and acceleration, the gas-kinetic equation is transformed from a physical space to a computational space.

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

Coordinate Transformation Based Electromagnetic Design and Applications. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
PhDThe main objective of this thesis is to take one step forward to practical and realisable devices for antenna and microwave engineering, using the technique of discrete coordinate transformation (DCT), which is a practical implementation of the ...

Coordinate-Transformation-Based Filter for Improved Target Tracking

open access: yes, 1986
A maximum likelihood estimation method is developed for applications to the target tracking problem based on bearings-only observations from a single observer.

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
