Stomatal opening ratio mediates trait coordinating network adaptation to environmental gradients
New Phytologist, 2022Summary A trait coordination network is constructed through intercorrelations of functional traits, which reflect trait‐based adaptive strategies. However, little is known about how these networks change across spatial scales, and what drivers and mechanisms mediate this change. This study bridges that gap by integrating functional traits related to

Unique Differential Ratios and Curvilinear Coordinates
Mathematics Magazine, 1960Introduction. Let (x, y) be the rectangular coordinates of a point in one plane and (u, v) the coordinates of a corresponding point in a second plane, and let them be related by the transformation u = b(x, y), v = q(zx, y). If ds 2 = dx + dy2 and ds'2 = dU2?+dV2, the condition for the conformal mapping of one plane on the other is that ds'2 = t2ds2 ...

Ligand Aspect Ratio as a Decisive Factor for the Self-Assembly of Coordination Cages
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2016It is possible to control the geometry and the composition of metallasupramolecular assemblies via the aspect ratio of their ligands. This point is demonstrated for a series of iron- and palladium-based coordination cages. Functionalized clathrochelate complexes with variable aspect ratios were used as rod-like metalloligands.

The concept of random coordination ratios, RCRs, is advanced for lanthanide complexes. RCRs describe the relative probabilities of occurrence of subsets of stereoisomers of same-symmetry point groups in the limiting situation when energetic effects are equivalent.

Molar ratio induced crystal transformation from coordination complex to coordination polymers
Chinese Chemical LettersCoordination complex of a copper cyanurate (Cu(II)-CA) was transformed into coordination polymers upon the stimulus of extra Cu(II) through “directed Ostwald ripening”. By increasing the molar ratio of Cu(II) to CA, we obtained two coordination polymers with selective coordination sites: Cu(II)-κN(HCA)κN-Cu(II) and Cu(II)-κN(HCA)κO-Cu(II), which ...

Perceptual Constraints on Frequency Ratio Performance in Motor-Respiratory Coordination
Ecological Psychology, 2010In motor-respiratory coordination, people typically maintain frequency ratios that are from lower levels of a mathematical structure known as the Farey tree. A hypothesized mechanism for motor-respiratory coordination is the visceral piston (Bramble & Carrier, 1983)—mechanical loading of the lungs due to footfalls, for example, imposes a rhythm on ...

Adaptive muting ratio in enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination for LTE-A systems
2014 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2014Heterogeneous network deployment is one of the key issues of future Long Term Evolution Advanced systems. However, the coexistence of high power macro-cells and low power femto-cells leads to co-channel interference problems that must be suitably counteracted.

Optimal muting ratio for Enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC) in HetNets
2013 IEEE International Conference on Communications Workshops (ICC), 2013We calculate the optimal muting ratio for time domain Enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (TDM eICIC) in a downlink HetNet scenario, consisting of macrocell and femtocell users. First we derive analytically the optimal muting ratio in a simplified scenario, and identify a particular case where all macro users are either strongly or not at all
