Coplanar waveguide fed coplanar strip dipole antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1994
A novel coplanar waveguide fed coplanar strip dipole antenna is presented. Return loss data as well as antenna patterns are shown. The antenna is matched with the use of a novel, wideband balun.

Design of a Polarization-Insensitive and High-Efficiency Coplanar Edge Coupler for Silicon Photonics by Using a Polished Conical Silicon-Cored-Fiber

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
Optical coupling between an external optical fiber and a silicon waveguide is vital for successful silicon photonics applications. Direct edge coupling has been desirable but challenging in the past to substitute for bulky, non-coplanar grating-assisted ...

Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons Power Divider with large Isolation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Periodic corrugated metal structure is designed to support and propagate spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) wave in the microwave frequencies. In this paper, firstly a plasmonic waveguide consisting of oval-ring shaped cells is proposed with the ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Inductively coupled superconducting half wavelength resonators as persistent current traps for ultracold atoms

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
A crucial point in the experimental implementation of hybrid quantum systems consisting of superconducting circuits and atomic ensembles is bringing the two partners close enough to each other that a strong quantum coherent coupling can be established ...

High‐Efficiency Miniaturized Spoof Plasmonic Waveguide Filter from Direct Current to Millimeter‐Wave Frequency

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, 2022
Spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) are highly confined electromagnetic (EM) surface waves in microwave and millimeter‐wave frequencies, mimicking the surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) in the optical frequency, which have many potential applications

Broadband coplanar waveguide-coplanar strip-fedspiral antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1995
A novel broadband coaxial-coplanar waveguide-coplanar strip-fed spiral antenna is presented. The antenna has good radiation patterns and a return loss of better than 10 dB over a wide bandwidth from 0.4 to 3.6 GHz. A DC-3.7 GHz broadband balun was developed for the antenna feed.
