Thermal Degradation of Blends of Polystyrene and poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) and the copolymer, poly(styrene-co-sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) [PDF]
The thermal degradation of blends and copolymers of styrene with styrenesulfonic acid has been studied using thermogravimetric analysis, TGA/FTIR, and cone calorimetry.

Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles Based on Carbon Nanotube Yarns and Eutectogel Derivatives
Solid‐state artificial muscles based on coiled commercial carbon nanotube yarns coated with eutectogel derivatives exhibit unipolar actuation through selective ion intercalation. Combining polyanionic and polycationic gels enables enhanced contractile stroke and high energy density.

Melt block copolymerization of ε-caprolactone and L-lactide [PDF]
AB block copolymers of ε-caprolactone and (L)-lactide could be prepared by ring-opening polymerization in the melt at 110°C using stannous octoate as a catalyst and ethanol as an initiator provided ε-caprolactone was polymerized first.

Unusual Swelling Behavior of Hydrogels Modified with Spiropyran as Appendage or Crosslinker
Not so innocent after all—spiropyran crosslinkers in methylenebisacrylamide‐crosslinked poly(acrylamide‐co‐acrylic acid) hydrogels increase crosslinking density, but also, counterintuitively, increase swelling. Charge complexation, cooperative chemo‐mechanical effects, and aggregation may explain these observations.

Kinetic vs. energetic discrimination in biological copying
We study stochastic copying schemes in which discrimination between a right and a wrong match is achieved via different kinetic barriers or different binding energies of the two matches.

Polyferrocene block copolymers are synthesized and assembled into micron‐sized polymer cubosomes with double diamond lattice and pore diameter of ≈30 nm. The ferrocene functionality is retained within the polymer cubosome wall as demonstrated on supramolecular modification, and oxidative disassembly.
