Copper Clad Aluminum in Electrical Application

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1968
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A variety of clad metals of the copper-aluminum family are finding their way into electrical applications. Breakthroughs in technologies of bonding now make this generic group of materials, hitherto economically impractical, available for normal electrical uses in strip and the all new, wire form.

Reliability study on crimping joint of copper-clad aluminum wire cable in spacecraft

2020 21st International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology (ICEPT), 2020
The space cable plays an important role in signal transmission and power distribution in spacecraft, and is an important part of connecting the subsystems and units. The number and weight of the space cables of spacecraft are increasing with the increasingly complex payload function of the spacecraft, which leads to a large increase in the cost of the ...

Thermomechanical Ageing of Copper-Clad Aluminum Wires Submitted to Creep Test Conditions

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Creep tests were performed on copper-clad aluminum wires at 423 K and different stresses to cover potential operating load ranges in automotive industry. The lifetime of the wires is strongly dependent on the existence of an initial heat treatment and on the applied stress. It can be correlated with the formation of the three intermetallics Al2Cu, AlCu

Fabrication of Copper Clad Aluminum Wire (CCAW) by Indirect Extrusion and Drawing

Materials Science Forum, 2004
The optimized extrusion conditions from the present research were the extrusion temperature of 573~623K and the extrusion ratio(A0/A) of 21.39. Above the extrusion temperature of 623K, the fracture of sheath material was observed. It is due to the difference of flow stress between the sheath material and the core material during extrusion process.

Copper selective separation and nanoporous copper oxide preparation from waste copper-clad aluminum scraps

Hydrometallurgy, 2020
Abstract Waste copper-clad aluminum (CCA) scraps are secondary resources that are rich in Cu and Al, with biosafety disposal that bears considerable strategic significance in promoting CCA. A process comprising NH3 leaching, NH3 distillation, and roasting was proposed to separate Cu from waste CCA scraps and prepare nanoporous CuO.

Thermal characterization of high power LED array in aluminum base copper clad laminate package

2012 13th International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology & High Density Packaging, 2012
With the increasing power of a single LED chip and the requirement of more LED chips in one package for high illumination, the conventional LED lamps with the surface mound device-printed circuit board (SMD-PCB) package have met some troubles. In the SMD-PCB package, there has too many thermal interfaces and hence has very high thermal resistance from ...
